I have always found this picture quite eerie. This is a wood stump, which to me looks a bit like a huge skull.
The following picture was taken at the same destination. If you look at the tree in the middle it looks rather like a person holding his arms up into the leaves. Eerie in a sense, but also totally fascinating. I stared at this tree so much.
*Hugs*
Scary!
Thanks, I think 🙂

it looks like a skull, indeed. 🙂 Is it natural?
Yes, it was the stump of an old tree, perfectly natural.
My god. Nature is celebrating halloween too. 😛
True that, Manu!
There’s a sort of eerie mist hanging over the water as well!
Yes, I took the top pic very early in the morning. I love the misty effect. Thanks Dr Ali 🙂
*hugs*
amazing stuff! love these. 🙂
Thanks kz 🙂

These are both remarkable pics. Picture 1 — maybe like the skull of a prehistoric crocodile. Picture 2 —-most definitely looks like a person! Do you see the little smiley face on the birch tree in the foreground?
I have been so fascinated by the tree person always that I had never noticed the smiley. Very observant of you, Al. Thanks for pointing it out, makes the picture even more fascinating for me 🙂
*hugs*
There’s a story hiding in those trees…
Funny you should say that, Amos. I was very sad about an event more than a year ago, and that was my sort of recovery place. So, for me it has a story – especially the smoke/mist on the water.

the stump looks like the character in Pirates of the Caribbean – Davy Jones with the tentacles growing around the sides of his head. Freaky!
It really does! Good description 🙂

These are spooky, Michelle! 🙂
Thanks Ese 🙂

Great Photos Michelle! I especially like the stump, it does look like a skull, albeit a bit cross-eyed, but definitely a skull
Thanks Marty, I agree with the cross eyed 🙂
