My 3rd Year on WordPress.

It is my 3rd year n WordPress.  I had spent three years, or was it four, before this on another blog site, so quite a few years of blogging which makes me a little long in the tooth.

I love WordPress and I love blogging.   I am a complete introvert and blogging somehow makes it so much easier to communicate and to have friends.  I have had very few friends throughout my life.  I often tried to befriend people.  Eventually I just accepted that I am a bit of an oddball and don’t really fit in, but here in the blog world there seem to be more people who are similar to myself.

I think this is the only place that I can say that I have friends.  That for me is such a blessing.  It has saved me in so many ways.  So, I just want to say to my blog friends, thank you for being a friend.

To be quoted.

You will see a Facebook like box for my new Facebook page on the top right of my blog.  What started it off  was the love of  photo editing.  I started off playing around with a few famous quotes, but then thought that I often see so many quotable words which bloggers have written, and thought that it would be wonderful to create photo edits with bloggers quotes (quote attributed to the blogger of course) too when I come across quotable thoughts and words.  Naturally I would ask the blogger permission first.  What do you think?

A matter of opinion.

Do you have a reputation? What is it, and where did it come from? Is it accurate? What do you think about it?

If we have a bad reputation, we might not exactly know about it, because human nature is so that there will be whispers behind ones back, and things will be said that our own ears might never hear.  Often reputations may not even be true, regardless of whether it is a good reputation or a bad reputation.

“Just because something isn’t a lie does not mean that it isn’t deceptive. A liar knows that he is a liar, but one who speaks mere portions of truth in order to deceive is a craftsman of destruction.”

Criss Jami

Do I have a reputation?  Well I don’t really know.  There have been complaints about my *Hugs* on blogs sometime ago, so maybe I have a reputation of being a hugger.  You know, in real life, I don’t go around hugging people as you might think.  I am, in fact, very careful about the hug and will only give it when it is asked for or when I know the person really well.  BTW, my little daughter says that I give the best hugs in the WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD.
Yes, I have had people who have had opinions of me through the years, but I no longer really care about what “they” think.
So the answer to the question, no I don’t have a reputation, and if I do, if its good then great but if not, well then I don’t really care .

I have had quite a strange two weeks.  First, as I mentioned before, my laptop decided not to work anymore, so I had to fire up my old one.  It is fine, but it is far too slow.  Also, after a hectic storm here, lightning stuck one of the cables just outside my house.  I got such a fright I nearly jumped out of my skin, and that caused the whole area to be out of power for a few days.  I do have back up procedures, but it does not make for wonderful internet connections.
Let me get to the point though.  When I started up my old laptop I happened upon some of the history on my old laptop, and I saw so many familiar names from bloggers who I now consider good internet friends.  It struck me then how long I have know some of you and how much you mean to me.  Being cut off for a while made me lonely, and I missed you.
So, this is a post of gratitude for you, for reading about my ups and downs and sharing of yourselves and your experiences with me.  Thank you for that, and thank you for giving me some of your precious time to read what I have written when I am down…the kindness in you comments is always appreciated by me.  I cannot tell you how many times I have had to reach for a tissue, because of the kind words left here for me on the worst days.
Thank you, you all mean so much to me.

Reading books/Reading blogs

How do you pick what blogs or books to read? What’s the one thing that will get you to pick up a book or click on a link every single time.

With books, it is usually the storyline which will grab my interest at first, but if after the first three chapters I am still struggling to get into the story I will probably put it down and not read anything else that the writer has written, but when the story has grabbed me, then I will end up reading quite a few writings of that writer.  I have my favourites but lately my taste in reading seems to have changed quite a bit.
As far as blogs go, there will also always be something that initially will catch my attention, but reading blogs is a little different I think.  Often with people’s blogs I start feeling as though the blogger is a friend or like-minded and I grow to like the blogger and will read, as though I’m listening, the same way I would listen to what a friend has to say or show at anytime.
