What do you do when you’re taking a casual stroll along the bank of the river and suddenly before your eyes appears, SURPRISE :), a Leguaan … well, you grab you camera and shoot it of course.
THAT. IS. MASSIVE. I probably would’ve made a run for it instead of snapping a photo. Oh. And speaking of creepy encounters, once at the play ground, a bird dropped a bleeding headless snake on the slide! Gahhhh!
He is quite huge! 🙂

Yep surprise would be the thing, but running would be next on my list, then getting home to slap myself for not taking the picture!! 😀 Great picture DH will like it.
LOL, actually I knew that he would disappear back into the bushes if I kept still and he did not feel threatened, so not too much bravery going on there 🙂
He was a large specimen, I guess it would have been a case of click and run for cover if he had not disappeared, but you definitely took a great photograph 🙂

That is one mighty huge lizard. Almost as big as Phil’s alligators.
This one was huge, I was terrified of it Gunta, but it just slid off away into the bushes. 🙂
*hugs*
It is a waran! Not sure about what exact species, it depends where you live, or may be the waran has escaped from captivity?
It was at the Kruger National Park, South Africa. I know it as a Leguaan. There were three of them roaming around freely 🙂
*hugs*
Good photo, Hopestar. He is rather HUGE, but quite harmless unless they see you as food. 😀 Happy weekend to you. Hugs x
Quite right ad. Happy weekend to you too 🙂

They can be aggressive, you must be brave, I think I would have made myself scarce as soon as possible. Also saw them at Kruger National Park.
Luckily he went into the bushes very quickly 🙂
