Nosy Message.

The Daily Prompt

A misused word, a misremembered song lyric, a cream pie that just happened to be there: tell us about a time you (or someone else) said or did something unintentionally funny.

I have always loved the song “Message in a bottle” by the Police.  Anyway, for years I have been singing along, in my mind, sometimes out of my mouth, the following words:

” A year has passed since I broke my nose”

the correct words are:

“A year has passed since I wrote my note”

So anyway, just recently, I downloaded this song on my iPod and was playing it in the car when I heard, as clear as daylight; Sting did not break his nose a year ago, but rather wrote his note!

The lyrics had crossed my mind as being a bit odd, the breaking of the nose and all.  I’m sure I would have caused quite boisterous laughter if anyone had of heard me sing this song – hopefully no one did.

Musical Marker

The Daily Prompt:
We all have songs that remind us of specific periods and events in our lives. Twenty years from now, which song will remind you of the summer of 2014?
This song makes me feel better instantly.  I play it quite a lot because it’s light and fun. – so I think that twenty years from now it will have the memories of 2014 attached.

On Fire

CharmingTake the third line of the last song you heard, make it your post title, and write for a maximum of 15 minutes. GO!

She’s living in a world, and it’s on fire

(The song: Girl on Fire – Alicia Keys)

You may have noticed, or not, my slow blogging as apposed to my normal amount of blogging.  All I want to be able to do right now is to go to bed with a hot water bottle.  It would be really nice to have some sort of vapour rub on my back.  It doesn’t surprise me that “this girl is on fire.” My head is throbbing so much it is actually making my jaw ache.  I should be singing that oldie that goes “I’m so dizzy my head is spinning.”  I would also love to have some sort of prescription from the doctor without actually having to go to the doc, who is going to tell me I’m not well at the moment , which I know anyway; although, he could give one of those injections for the headache, but for now, I’m just waiting for this day to be over…and yes I know this isn’t 15 minutes worth of writing.

I decided to add a picture of “His Royal Highness” since he is much more charming than myself at the moment.

Runaway

seaside The Daily Prompt: If you had the opportunity to live a nomadic life, traveling from place to place, would you do it? Do you need a home base? What makes a place “home” to you?

I’ve said many times before that I’d love to have some sort of camper and travel with no special destination in mind.  The South African coast would be a good place to start.  Day dreams are good friends, but we all have responsibilities, and I have three responsibilities that I totally adore and they overtake my daydream by far… 🙂
If it was possible though, I would need to have a home base, not that I’d be there often, but we all need some place to call home.

This song was playing on the radio while I was typing this post so I thought I’d add it.
