About

Circular rose-imp

I never find it easy to say things about myself and yet blogging about my life seems the natural thing to do. Oh, I get upset and happy, teary and optimistic like other people do; it’s just that I think my lows are lower and my highs peak above the rest. Anyway, writing about feelings is much more comfortable than actually telling them to someone. I always fear the rejection I might face then.
So, here I am, talking to an anonymous audience, laying my soul bare and telling you stuff I wouldn’t dare tell others. I’d love to see your comments, and hope you will be as honest with these as I am in my writing. If you want to criticise, please do. I can only grow by taking note of that, although I have one teeny request: don’t reject, just say it with kindness.
I love blogging because I am fascinated by people. It makes me realise how different – and how similar – we are to one another. We all feel pain. We all cry. And boy, do we enjoy a good laugh!
Well, that’s me: a mother, a woman, an amateur photographer,a small business owner and a writer.
Welcome to my world.

  1. You answered my question today, before I had a chance to come to your “about” page…glad to hear that you’re “under the influence”, maybe those dark clouds will lift!

  2. Thanks for visiting me! My grandmother, Helen McCook, was an art teacher and a porcelain doll maker. Handcrafted every last piece from the clay to the moulds to the hand sewn bodies and clothes. Amazing skill… kind of a lost art I would guess. Good for you for keeping it alive!

  3. Thank you for following my blog. Time seems to be compressed lately. I awake today feeling so grateful for my life and all its’ blessings so I decided to start thanking people. Blog-pals are important to me. Hugs to you- Mae

  10. Hope, I nominated you for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award because I sense that you have a lot of pain inside, and yet, when I visit your blog, you offer only encouragement, and when you visit other blogs, you almost always leaves a *hug*. I think perhaps you don’t even realize just how special your *hugs* are. They inspire others to want to be kinder and more caring, and doesn’t the world need a lot more people like you?

The rules for accepting the nomination are found here:

  14. Interesting blog you have here. I hear you on blogging for therapy, that was the main reason I started and it’s one of the reasons I continue (but no longer the main one). Thanks for the visit!

    • I love blogging, Lori and it has made my life so much better in so many ways. Pottery is also wonderful therapy, but when you’re doing it for yourself and do not have any sort of deadline 🙂
Thank you for popping over and reading 🙂

  21. I like it, and it is funny, you have problems talking about yourself on that about page, but in your posts we get to know you much better and you are honest about yourself so easily. So no worries , I know more about you through your posts than this page. And as summary, you are an amazing, honest, wonderful soul. Sending you my love and a very special hug! Ute

Btw, I hope you are okay…I read your post about that guy snooping around your property! I hope you decide later on maybe to buy something better than a few shock sticks… Now I won’t stop worrying =/ haha

  23. I recently found your blog and I’m really enjoying it. I was given the Liebster Award by a new friend and I am paying it forward by giving it to a few new blogs I follow. I am including your blog in my list. Details are on my page. Keep up the great work!

  24. Hi, I just nominated you for an award (and I was required to let you know in a comment!) – I nominated you because your blog makes me smile, makes me think… I love keeping up with what you’re up to!

  25. I had to read this and say, we all somewhere have that space inside us which is ours yet we want to share it without getting stopped. Thank you for your perseverance and patience bringing us that part of yours to the world. I hope this keeps you powered up for the best.
Joining your world of fan followers. Another happy hugger but more in real life 🙂
Hugs and Happiness – they all go along together.

  26. Hi, I hope you remember me from our interactions through Daily Prompts.
Today I thought about inviting you to my blog ‘Things To Rave About’ (http://toraveabout.com).
I used to write on ‘Beyond Beauty Tips’ and recently moved to my own domain. Hope to see you there, Hope! *hugs*

  27. Hi there!
Thanks for visiting my blog and for liking my Weekly Photo Challenge: Curiosity post 🙂
I just love the little kitten – makes me think that’s what my little Cliffy would have looked like at that age 🙂 I adopted him when he was already a year old so I never saw him as a tiny baby.

    • I’m glad you like the pictures of him, he has grown a little bigger now too and will post updates. I think he probably does look like your Cliffy when he was a kitten, so many of the little kittens look alike, it seems as they grow older that there natures determine the way they look, in attitude and expression that is 🙂
      *hugs*

  28. Thank you for passing by my blog – it means a lot to me, besides the fact that I now get to read your blog and take a look at your fabulous photography! I too find it so much easier to express my feelings in writing – verbally I get tongue-tied, or blurt things out every way but the way I want them to come out – I guess, we are similar in our differences !

  29. I love the way you write, its like I’m just sitting beside you and having a conversation with an old friend. Thanks for sharing your inner thoughts. I’ll be sitting beside you once in awhile, hope this doesn’t sound creepy to you 🙂

  30. Blessings,
You have a wonderful blog here and I thank you for sharing. Writing is truly therapeutic, and can many people that we don’t even know. You have a beautiful heart. God willing check out my blog when given the opportunity. Many blessings to you.

  31. Hi,
I am so glad that I came across your blog. Me too blog about my difficulties with depression. The way you expressed your motive behind blogging sounds like my own words! If some one asks me why do I blog, that is exadtly what I would like to say; but I could not formulate it the way you did. Perhaps that higlights how similar we are!!
I liked the name of the blog: happyhugger. I like hugging. in my blog when I am writing to people I send them a hug. I like to hug people; I am hugger too. It is a great way of expressing our love to one another. No words can communicate the love one express and communicates through hugs.
Looking forward for your posts. Take care.
    Hug,
    Niranjan

  38. Hi Happy Hugger: I’m new to blogging at 71 oops! TMI….Just wanted to share my story & poems! I love your freshness & delightful humor!
Any suggestions on how I might jazz up Heart Songs?
I really do have a lighter funnier side of me!

  39. Hello, I understand everything you say in this introduction. Especially the highs and lows.
I also blog with my heart but perhaps I am more reserved than you are.

I will try to participate in ‘the pet of the week’ posts. I have so many photos of my life with pets.
Take good care, best to you and yours, Vera

  40. Very interesting blog! A potter and mould maker? The only time I made a mould was for foundry class. Incidentally,
I love chocolates, but now I can only stomach the bitter ones – 85% cocoa and above! The rest is too sweet for me.

  41. I love your positive spirit…it is contagious.:) Your pet photos are awesome as well. Nothing like cats and dogs to show you how to really get the most out of life!

    Stay Beautiful.
