Touraco Bird

The Daily Prompt:
Today you can write about anything, in whatever genre or form, but your post must mention a dark night, your fridge, and tears (of joy or sadness; your call). Feel free to switch one ingredient if you have to (or revisit one from previous trio prompts).
It was a darkish night. I was rummaging through my fridge whilst talking to my mom on the phone. I had just been to a parent/ teachers meeting that day and was telling my mother that the teacher said my littlest daughter is “insanely intelligent” (teachers words not mine.)
I was expecting my mom to say something complimentary and granny-ish…but alas, the words I heard through the phone said. “I’m so glad one of my grandchildren takes after me.”
I was laughing so much, I had tears of joy pouring down my cheeks.
She is a witty one, that mum of mine.
This is a true story
❤
This is a delightful story. That’s what moms and grannies are for, to keep us smiling and / or laughing.
😀 😀 XD
I agree with you Tess 🙂 ❤

This was so cute, and a very smart grandma!
That she is 🙂 ❤
Sounds fun and delightful!
Thank you Carol 🙂 ❤
This is beautiful, Michelle! 🙂
So glad you like it, thanks so much ❤
You’re welcome. 🙂
Funny story, too. All I could see loaded was the picture at first.
Thank you ❤
You’re welcome!
❤
This made me laugh, brilliant Michelle, my Mum would say something so similar!… 😀 ❤
So glad you laughed at this Amanda, it’s one of those things that still makes me smile when I think of it, even though it was a few days ago 😀 ❤
Forget out of the mouths of babes…. it’s been changed to out of the mouths of mothers 😀
lol, absolutely 🙂 ❤
What a lovely story. 😀
Thank you Raewyn 🙂 ❤
Hahaha. That sounds like something I would say. 🙂
I actually picture saying something like that, ad 🙂 ❤
You must be so proud of that little girl. How great when these little ones make us proud. Tell the little girl I am proud of her and wish to get more beautiful stories of how she is making a difference in the world. Congratulations on your ability to tell a great story in very few words. I am learning from writers like you to say it short but great.
I am proud of her, thank you so much 🙂
I like your Mom! Now I know where you get your insanely intelligent personality. 🙂
Hehe, thanks so much Dor 🙂 ❤
What a cute story. Those Moms just can be so clever! 🙂
That they can 🙂 ❤
hahahaha! Now that’s witty for sure Michelle! 😆
