Clothes and toys, recipes and jokes, advice and prejudice: we all have to handle all sorts of hand-me-downs every day. Tell us about some of the meaningful hand-me-downs in your life.
❤
Meaningful hand-me downs for me have been books. I don’t mind getting books that come from a second-hand stores which were read by many. I love everything about a hand-me-down books. I love the smell, the slightly bent corners and even the colour.
My mother is quite a well read lady and she has handed me many a book over the years which I was very happy to receive. Some of the best books I’ve read come with a recommendation from mom.
I am very happy that all of my daughters are readers as well, even the little one. She loves funny books. She makes us all smile so much because when she gets into what she’s reading she laughs out loud. I love it; reading is much better than watching cartoons all day.
So, I am really grateful for all the books I have been handed over the years.
You can never go wrong with a good book
Agreed Terry 🙂

My daughter is a sporadic reader with years in between a book. I hope my granddaughters take after me. Nothing like settling down with a good books that’s made the rounds. Must mean it’s worth the time. 😀
Absolutely so, Tess 🙂

I love the smell of books too and for years you could find me in a library. I was the only reader in the family. My sister and my daughter always ask me to read for them 😀 Now I try to get my grandchildren into the books, but unfortunately they’re not bookworms either.. 😀 Big Hugs ❤
It is nice to read to them though 🙂 Like yourself I love libraries too ❤ ❤ ❤

Love to think of your little one laughing out loud when she reads – she’ll read for the rest of her life 🙂

I too love old books. I have a few from some old neighbors when I was a child – some originals of Ella Wheeler Wilcox!
Old hand me down books are the best.
