Life to back

The Daily Prompt:
After an especially long and exhausting drive or flight, a grueling week at work, or a mind-numbing exam period —
what’s the one thing you do to feel human again?
Some may know that I have returned from being away recently.  My reply to the question: nothing.  Nothing I did made me feel better and back to life again.  I was absolutely drained.  My sleeping was more out of sync than usual and then of course the dreaming.
What made me feel so awful as well was although I was happy to be back in South Africa, I was also not happy about all the violence and aggressive attitudes here.  The contrast on the attitudes and outlook on life from where I had been is so different. The sad part is that this is where I belong, I was born here.  Dot get me wrong, I love my country but there are some things…anyway, I digress.
I reckon the only thing that does help is just to try to sleep whenever one is tired or jet lagged (which is not always possible though) and eventually things will get back to normal again.

  2. Despite your sleepproblems …l hope you filled your eyes and soul with some beautiful things on your recent travels.
My only problem with SLEEP is that l have never wanted to do it ..even as a child l would wait until my parents were asleep and then turn my lights on again and read. I am always afraid that l will ‘miss something’ ….Probably goes back to my wee youth when l awoke to discover that the ‘grown ups’ had been partying whilst l had been sleeping.
To this day..l stay awake until l am nearly falling over with tiredness..and l begrudge the fact that l need to sleep.
When l look at gravestones..and see the inscription “Only Sleeping” it reminds me how short our lives are..and enforces my habit to stay awake as long as l can.

    • I did fill my eyes and soul, Jo, it was wonderful. As for the sleeping – now that is an opposite type of problem, usually people are having trouble getting to sleep. No wonder the need for sleep clinics.

  3. It does give one quite an unpleasant jolt after spending time overseas, to come back and read in the news of the awful things that are going on here. Hope you’re recovered from the jet lag by now. Hugs xx

  6. Oh my Cat, that sounds awfull, Hope. Well, I can relate to it too and I hadn’t have a jetlag yet. Sleep and meditation always works on me, just try to find your center back again. I guess I have to practice what I preach now too 🙂 I just see that you’re feeling better. That’s good 🙂 Pawkisses for a Happy Day 🙂

  8. It surely will go back to normal again Michelle. Don’t lose hope hon. I know how you feel and that is one of the reasons why I do not want to travel, especially to exotic places. I’ll stay there. LOL! Just get enough rest sweetness and try to relax. I know it’s difficult, but I know you can do it. Love the photo! It’s gorgeous! 😀 ♥ Big Hugs ♥

Namaste. My soul honors your soul. I honor the place in you where the entire universe resides. I honor the light, love, truth, beauty & peace within you, because it is also within me. In sharing these things we are united, we are the same, we are one.
