When I was a teenager I was involved in quite a bad car accident. I had a broken my wrist, broken an arm and damaged a shoulder. I had a huge gash in my knee which was filled with tar and dirt. Anyway, my leg was not looking good. After two operations, one on the day of the accident and then another later, the doctor said that my leg would stay in that bent position and that he did no think I will be able to walk properly again. physiotherapy was not even suggested at that stage, don’t know why.
After the second operation my leg was hugely swollen again, so I waited a few weeks for the swelling to go down. I started walking very slowly up and down our road on crutches, but slowly I put more and more pressure on my leg so that I could stop using the crutches. To cut a long story short. I walked and walked, then started running. Did stretching exercises and after about a year my leg and knee were perfect, and I could walk normally!
I smile when I think back on my determination and the inward inspiration and motivation; it was as though there was someone else helping me along…

Great post Michelle. I so admire your determination! These doctors are people too, they don’t know everything and never will. My wife has a large scar just above her right knee from a broken sliding glass door accident years ago. Go for another walk!
I am grateful to the doctors who helped me at that time, they did a really good job. I go for lots of walks still, I am grateful.
Thanks so much John.

I have life battles yet I learned not to loose hope, no matter what happens I will never give up. Other people’s problems are far greater than mine and I am so blessed that I have my husband inspiring me and giving me encouragement everyday. There is no reason to give up.
Well said, thank you janshe 🌻
