Todays Daily Prompt: What’s the most surreal experience you’ve ever had?

medium_3538141481

Are you kidding me!  I have them all the time.  Every day, some days a few times a day other days maybe once or twice.  I have waves of feeling “this isn’t real,” but then I get a grip and adjust my thinking.  How often have I met someone or communicated with a person and I get that surreal feeling flow over me; that I have known this person forever.  I am confused, amazed often that people don’t feel the same, or perhaps they do but don’t say anything about it.
Sometimes, its breaks my heart that I feel a real strong connection, but the other will be oblivious to that insight.  Over the years I have learnt to live with these feelings and sometimes manage to block those instincts…its a strange feeling when it does happen but then perhaps its is just simply me :( You are permitted to think I’m quite mad, that is ok with me.
*hugs*

  1. Mad is quite all right, if you ask me :) But then again, I consider myself a lady with a can full of quirks and a bucket of crazy… so…i’ll probably not make any sense… hahah :D

If people were as open and awed as you are by even the simplest connection, the world would be extra happy… :)

I salute your everyday surreal experience and hopefully, I’ll be as lucky as you are because despite the fact that some connections and feelings are unreciprocated, to be able to see and beyond the mundane and discover something profound about one’s self is a blessing. :)

have a HAPPY day *hugs* back :)

  3. I also get those feelings so I guess we are both Mad if that is the case…my son in law calls it my sixth sense. I knew my daughter was pregnant and with what gender before they told me. So I am a misfit…. I will also ask people if we have met before. They do give a “deer in headlights glance” now that you mention it…

  4. The strong feelings are impossible to ignore – they demand acknowledgement. The weaker ones only tug gently at the consciousness, but are more common. I believe we are wired to be aware of such events. They’re there for a purpose.

  6. You are far from mad, your intuition is a gift not everyone has. When you feel a connection like that, there is a good chance you have known that person before in another life. It’s hard to say why others don’t acknowledge the connection. Some people are just not ready to admit reincarnation exists, or they do believe in it but are not ready to let others know.
I get feelings like this also, sometimes it’s very brief, in passing, and other times have a full conversation with someone I don’t know. Either way, you’re not mad. :)

  7. You’re not mad just more sensitive to those feelings that science can’t quantify, so therefore they say don’t exist. Yet most people will admit to having experienced deja vu, which means already seen in French.

  10. Definitely not mad! Those kind of things happen to me all the time too. I’ll meet someone who seems familiar. I’ll experience deja vu when I walk into a room for the first time. I think it’s just part of the human experience, it’s part of being a piece of this world.

  11. No, not mad, just intuitive. I have feelings like that, at times, too.
My son suggests that, perhaps, I have known these people in other lives.
We also discuss common consciousness and how that could do it.
My most surreal experience was my astral travel episodes which I talked about in a post, but don’t know which ones exactly.

  14. You are very intuitive, sensitive, but not mad. If I take time to just sit, rarely I do that, things get very surreal, calm but surreal. I like it, never really pay much attention to it, I guess I am used to it. I think it is an artsy thing, to be very sensitive to your surroundings and people’s energy that they give off. And of course they are thinking about what they are going to have for lunch. Goes with the creative territory I think. *hugs*

  15. I’m sure we all have those moments of recognition, Hopestar. Sometimes I feel a real connection to total strangers and places too. My most surreal moments happen in my dreams. :D Hugs to you.

  17. Fascinating grounds for speculation. One theory would be that you are tapping into a store of collective memories. Another is could be that you are recalling things from previous encounters in other incarnations. Of course, another would be that your imagination is working overtime. I tend to regard the last as the least likely.
